  • Become a client or otherwise interact with Custom Geekery.

If you have questions about this policy or how we handle your information, contact us at MyGeek@CustomGeekery.com.

  • Feedback you voluntarily provide about the tool.

The location entered into the calculator is used to estimate a potential local audience. The calculator does not require access to your device’s precise GPS location.

You may use the calculator and view your on-screen results without becoming a marketing contact. If you request an emailed report, we collect the contact information and consent choices you submit with that request.

Consent and communication records

When you submit a form or choose a communication option, we may record:

  • Whether you requested a report or other information.
  • Whether you consented to receive marketing emails.
  • Whether you consented to receive text messages.
  • The date and time of your consent.
  • The page, form, or source through which consent was provided.
  • The version of the consent language shown to you.
  • Your unsubscribe or opt-out requests.

We keep these records to honor your preferences and document how and when permission was provided.

When you use our websites or online tools, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain technical and usage information, including:

  • Internet Protocol address.
  • Browser type and settings.

This information helps us operate, protect, understand, and improve our websites, advertising, and services.

Information from third parties

We may receive information from third parties when you interact with Custom Geekery through their services. These may include:

  • Social-media platforms and lead forms.
  • Advertising platforms.
  • Scheduling and video-meeting services.
  • Customer relationship management, form, email, and messaging platforms.
  • Payment processors.

The information we receive depends on the service, your interaction with it, and the permissions or settings you choose.

Sensitive personal information

We do not intentionally request sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, medical information, biometric identifiers, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation. Please do not submit sensitive personal information through our general forms, chat tools, calculators, or email.

2. How We Use Your Information

We may use personal information to:

  • Provide the website, calculator, report, appointment, product, or service you requested.
  • Generate and deliver Local Marketing Reality Check results and recommendations.
  • Respond to questions, requests, and support needs.
  • Communicate about an inquiry, appointment, project, purchase, or client relationship.
  • Create and update contact and project records.
  • Process transactions through third-party payment processors.
  • Send administrative or service-related communications.
  • Send marketing emails or text messages when you have provided the appropriate consent.
  • Record and honor communication preferences, unsubscribes, and opt-outs.
  • Request feedback about our tools or services.
  • Personalize and improve our websites, tools, content, advertising, and services.
  • Measure website use and marketing performance.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, or technical problems.
  • Enforce our terms, protect our rights, and comply with legal obligations.

We may combine information collected through different interactions when doing so is reasonably necessary for these purposes.

3. Legal Bases for Processing

Depending on where you live, applicable law may require us to identify a legal basis for processing your information. We may rely on:

  • Consent, when you ask us to use your information for a specific purpose or choose to receive marketing communications.
  • Performance of a contract or steps requested before entering a contract, when we provide a requested product or service.
  • Legitimate interests, such as operating and improving our business, responding to inquiries, protecting our services, and understanding the effectiveness of our marketing, when those interests are not outweighed by your rights.
  • Legal obligations, when processing is necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, court order, or lawful request.
  • Protection of vital interests, when necessary to protect someone’s health, safety, or legal interests.

You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that occurred before the withdrawal or processing based on another lawful basis.

4. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising Technologies

We and our service providers may use cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies to operate our websites, remember preferences, understand how visitors use our services, measure marketing performance, and display or evaluate advertising.

These tools may include services provided by Google, Meta, and other analytics, advertising, website, and technology providers. These providers may collect device and usage information through their own technologies and process it according to their own privacy policies.

Depending on your location and applicable law, disclosure of device or usage information to advertising providers may be considered “sharing,” targeted advertising, or cross-context behavioral advertising.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings and through any cookie preference controls we make available. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of our websites function.

You can also review advertising and analytics choices through resources such as:

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information for money.

We may disclose personal information in the following situations:

Service providers

We may provide information to vendors and service providers that help us operate our business. These may include providers of:

  • Website hosting, maintenance, security, and technical support.
  • Forms, chat, customer relationship management, email, and text messaging.
  • Payment processing, invoicing, accounting, and order fulfillment.
  • Scheduling and video meetings.
  • File storage and collaboration.
  • Analytics, advertising, and performance measurement.
  • Business automation and customer support.

These providers may use information only as needed to perform services for us, comply with law, and protect their systems and rights.

Analytics and advertising providers

We may disclose cookie, device, and usage information to analytics and advertising providers to understand website activity, measure campaigns, and improve or deliver advertising. Depending on applicable law, some of these disclosures may be considered sharing or targeted advertising.

Legal and safety reasons

We may disclose information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with law, respond to a lawful request, protect a person’s safety, investigate fraud or misuse, enforce an agreement, or protect the rights and property of Custom Geekery or others.

Business changes

If Custom Geekery is involved in a merger, sale, financing, reorganization, or transfer of some or all of its business or assets, information may be disclosed as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate protections.

At your direction or with your consent

We may disclose information when you ask us to do so or give us permission.

The special restrictions that apply to mobile information and SMS consent are described in Section 6.

6. SMS and Mobile Messaging Terms

Providing a phone number does not automatically enroll you in text messages from Custom Geekery. You will receive marketing or follow-up text messages only when you separately and affirmatively consent, such as by selecting an optional SMS consent checkbox.

If you opt in, Custom Geekery may send text messages to the mobile number you provide. Messages may include:

  • Follow-up about your Local Marketing Reality Check results or requested information.
  • Requests for feedback about a Custom Geekery tool or service.
  • Relevant marketing help, practical tips, service information, or offers from Custom Geekery.
  • Responses to questions or requests you send to us.

Messages may be sent using automated technology. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing a product or service. You will receive a requested Local Marketing Reality Check report whether or not you consent to text messages.

You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to a text message. After you opt out, you may receive a final confirmation message. Reply HELP for help, email MyGeek@CustomGeekery.com, or call 570-423-9817.

You confirm that you are the owner or authorized user of the mobile number you provide. Wireless carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.

No mobile information sharing for marketing: We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in information, or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We may disclose this information to service providers, messaging platforms, and wireless carriers only as necessary to operate and deliver our messaging services or as required by law. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.

Opting out of text messages does not automatically unsubscribe you from email. You may manage email communications separately as described below.

7. Email Communications

If you request a report, appointment, service, or response by email, we may send the requested information and related service communications to the email address you provide.

For the Local Marketing Reality Check, you will receive the report you requested whether or not you separately consent to ongoing marketing emails.

If you choose to receive marketing emails, we may send occasional practical marketing tips, service information, and offers from Custom Geekery. You may unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link in an email or contacting us at MyGeek@CustomGeekery.com.

Unsubscribing from marketing emails may not stop messages that are necessary to deliver something you requested, complete a transaction, provide client support, or communicate important service information.

8. Payment Information

Payments are processed through third-party payment providers. Custom Geekery does not intentionally store complete debit or credit card numbers on its own website systems. Payment providers may collect and process payment and billing information according to their own privacy policies and legal obligations.

We may retain transaction records such as the amount paid, date, service purchased, invoice status, and limited payment details provided by the processor for accounting, client service, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.

9. How Long We Keep Information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing services, maintaining business and transaction records, honoring communication preferences, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, and meeting legal, tax, accounting, and compliance obligations.

The appropriate retention period depends on the type of information, why it was collected, whether we have an ongoing relationship with you, the sensitivity of the information, and applicable legal requirements.

We may retain consent and opt-out records for as long as reasonably necessary to demonstrate compliance and honor your communication choices. When information is no longer needed, we may delete it, anonymize it, or securely isolate it until deletion is possible, including when information remains temporarily in backups.

10. How We Protect Information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. These measures may include access controls, secure service providers, software maintenance, backups, and security monitoring.

No website, Internet transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for using appropriate care when sending information online and should not send sensitive information through unencrypted email, general contact forms, chat, or calculators.

11. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Ask whether we process your personal information.
  • Request access to or a copy of your personal information.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
  • Ask us to delete certain information.
  • Withdraw consent when processing is based on consent.
  • Object to or request restriction of certain processing.
  • Opt out of certain targeted advertising, sharing, or profiling.
  • Request data portability.
  • Appeal a decision we make about a privacy request.
  • Exercise your privacy rights without unlawful discrimination.

Not every right applies in every location or circumstance. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We will use information submitted for verification only to evaluate and respond to the request.

Where permitted by law, you may authorize someone to submit a request for you. We may ask for evidence that the person is authorized to act on your behalf and may still need to verify your identity directly.

To submit a privacy request, email MyGeek@CustomGeekery.com or write to us at the address in Section 16.

You may also manage communications as follows:

  • Use the unsubscribe link to stop marketing emails.
  • Reply STOP to stop text messages.
  • Adjust cookie or browser settings to limit certain online tracking.

We may retain information necessary to document and honor an opt-out request even after other information is deleted.

12. International Users

Custom Geekery is based in the United States. If you access our services from another country, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from the laws where you live.

Where required, we rely on appropriate legal bases and safeguards for international processing and transfers.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, or Canada, you may have additional rights under local law and may have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

13. Children’s Privacy

Our services are intended for adults and business users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact MyGeek@CustomGeekery.com, and we will take reasonable steps to review and delete the information when appropriate.

14. Do-Not-Track and Browser Preference Signals

Some browsers offer a Do-Not-Track setting. Because there is not a uniform industry standard for responding to Do-Not-Track signals, our websites may not respond to them in the same way across all services.

Where applicable law requires recognition of a legally valid browser-based opt-out preference signal, we will process the signal as required by that law. You may also contact us directly to make a privacy request.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology, business practices, or legal obligations. The revised version will be identified by the “Last updated” date at the top of the policy.

If we make a material change, we may provide additional notice through our website, by email, or through another appropriate method.
